Welcome to the Obstetric Surveillance and Response System
The National Obstetric Surveillance and Response System (OSRS) is a systematic, long-term process for the improvement of maternal health care by acting on the lessons and recommendations arising from the standardized identification and assessment at national level of all cases where mothers have suffered a severe obstetric event. OSRS promotes continuing quality improvement in maternity care through implementing, evaluating and acting on the recommendations of analyses of severe maternal complications, in line with the WHO guidance document " Beyond the Numbers - Reviewing maternal deaths and complications to make pregnancy safer" (BTN), and worldwide established best practices, such as the UKOSS-type systems.
